Upcoming Craft and Trade Shows:
Friday, 25 April 2025: Alt After Dark Night Market at the Old Strathcona Performing Arts Centre in Edmonton 8426 Gateway Boulevard. Held from 7-11pm. Free entry, all ages. We will be there with Harry Potter style wands, engraved slate, Viking rune blocks, and more. Look for some very interesting new engraved slate styles.
Saturday, 03 May 2025: Muir Lake Spring Market at Muir Lake community hall on Hwy 779 just 11 km due north of Stony Plain. Hours: 10am - 4pm. Free entry, all ages. Concession available. We'll have something new there that we've been working on this winter, plus all our other new and existing products.
Friday through Sunday, 13 - 15 June 2025: Game Con Canada at the Edmonton Expo Centre (7515 118 Ave NW, Edmonton). This is going to be a huge and amazing show for boardgamers, videogamers, ttrpg'ers and anyone interested in big shows at the Expo Centre. Hours: Friday, 13 June: 11am to 7pm. Saturday, 14 June: 10am to 6pm. Sunday, 15 June: 10am to 6pm. This will be the biggest show we've ever done. We'll have most of what we sell on our website with an emphasis on Anything Tiles and Promethium Forge products. There will be around 350 vendor booths, more than 35,000 attendees, video and board game demos and tournaments, and cosplay (sure, come dressed up in steampunk, as a mech warrior, as your favourite board or video game character, or something more obscure).
As soon as details are finalized we will announce here all the other shows we will be at throughout 2025.
News:
December 2024: Onoway Jr./Sr. High School hosted an Evening of Christmas Enchantment on Thursday, 12 December 2024 at the school from 6:30pm to 9pm. We had a great show with way more people and business than expected. We were kept very busy for the 2 1/2 hours of the show. Our various decorations were very popular and, as always, we had lots of people who loved buying our slate. Thanks to so many who showed up.
November 2024: We had a great show at the Muir Lake Winter Market on Saturday, 30 November from 10am to 4pm. The community hall is just 7 minutes drive north of Stony Plain. Poster for show. We had three kinds of Christmas ornaments available: live-edge multi-layer, 3d engraved maple, and cut-through buffalo plaid. Our ever popular engraved slate was a big hit as usual, as were other treasures and unique gifts such as debossed dinosaur rolling pins. The weather wasn't great but we really appreciated the turn-out and the enthusiasm from people who love the awesome things we like to make.
November 2024: We had a great show at the very local Onoway Farmer's Market on 14 November. Very many thanks to those who dropped by and those who shopped. We love to see people get enthused about our geeky items. They "get" us and we appreciate it. This was a smaller show than other shows we have been at but the customers were great and supportive as always. This was a last-minute decision and we're glad we went because so many people bought "our awesome".
October 2024: We had another successful show at the Parkland Fall Night Market on 4-5 October 2024. Our new products, the multi-layer live-edge Christmas tree ornaments were well received. They come in three varieties. There were good crowds of shoppers at the show and many interesting tables. Thanks to all who purchased something from us. A big thank-you to the many friends and family who dropped by to say hello and buy some of our lovely products.
July 2024: Calgary's Indigem Rock and Gem Show held on Friday through Sunday, 19-21 July 2024 was even more successful than Edmonton's. Even more vendors and customers and our slate was even more popular. Big thanks to Green's Rock and Lapidary and Indigem for making it possible for us to have a booth at the show. And many thanks to those who dropped by to see and purchase our wide variety of laser engraved slate. Definitely our most popular item was the "phases of the moon" slate, though many other pieces also did well.
July 2024: Our very first show was a "smashing" success. Our live-edged engraved slate was popular with the public. This was at the Edmonton Indigem Rock and Gem Show on Friday and Saturday, 12-13 July 2024. Thanks to everyone who dropped by to say hello, buy awesome engraved slate, and spend some fascinating time with our hermit crabs who were showing off our terrarium slate.
