Viking Rune Blocks

Viking Rune Blocks for barbarians, history buffs, linguists, philologists, and lovers of all things Viking. Use them in Tolkienesque ways, or as a goad to your imagination as you compose a saga. Based on the Elder Futhark. Like alphabet blocks, but using runes ("futhark" rather than "alphabet").

Images are based on the meanings of the runes (for example, "fehu" means "wealth/cattle" and "raido" means "ride"). 

Rune blocks set contains 8 blocks with all 24 runes from "fehu" to "othila" with matching pictures (3 runes and 3 images per each block). Pictures go from "wealth/cattle" (for "fehu") to "estate" (for "othila").

There's a Viking saying that goes:

“Never walk
away from home
ahead of your axe and sword.
You can’t feel a battle
in your bones
or foresee a fight.”

We'd say it this way: "Never leave your child without runic blocks. You can't tell when there will be a need to sing or tell a saga."
